Have a look at this ...The feathers on my light sussex cockeral ..perfect in all other ways, are defective .....BAH .I have finally got beetle green black tail feathers ...Unfortunately ,the pay off is, he has lost the white defining edge on his neck markings ..thus rendering him useless in the show pen ....I was planning to show him and have been waiting on these last feather to come ..thus

Langshan pullet ..I'm happy with the pullets coming up ..some had dark feet ..they all went to a good home ..the hen throwing it also went ...The pullets have a nice V curve .I 'm stil having trouble picking a nice Cockeral ..I think I have it worked out but I'm troubled by the ones I see in show pictures..the tail seems to long . The eggs(breeding line ) I was given 4 yrs ago (wow ..that long )

Righto, here we go . from the left .. cockeral -on the branch ....cockeralIn front ..pullet and tail in corner ..pullet Above ............pullet Above pullet .this one concerns me ..she has the best lacing /grey black plumage but yellowish green legs, as you can see in the photo and yellowy tinge to her wattles etc and a bright orange eye . I would love any advice on how to breed them next

.this is the second cockeral ..He has more white lacing over his body than the others . He's light grey in the bum fluff " Both cockerals have white-ish legs orange eyes and black beak ..They are only young ....2mnths so haven't yet moulted ..I'm guessing out of the 5 ,one hen is good, the others will be handy to improve the next generation .Any advice most welcome These photos I found one line

This is the cockeral I'm keeping .He needs to fill out, he's about 6nths .I find my sussex roosters need a good year to fill out and look their best , but once he does I think he's going to be mighty nice (I hope anyway ).I have concerns that he is too flat in the back but I guess time and maturity(aka tail feathers ) will tell .I have another rooster (last year's.. ) that I 'm going to show this

We did quite well at the local show ....Winnng best softfeather bantam -female, and !st , 2nd place in the sussex section. Also my langshan bantam (black ) pullet won her section .All round it was a nice suprise .. very unexpected , I'd have been happy with a 3 place and some good breeding advice from the judge . Tomorrow where heading of to another show .. i expect to come home unplaced
